Dear Parish Family,
Four years ago, I was blessed to come to serve the parishioners of St. Ann’s Parish and
the Black Rock Community as your pastor. In these four years, we have had the
opportunity to do some incredible things together and I honestly believe I am one of the
happiest pastors in the Diocese of Bridgeport. We have worked hard and have seen our
parish grow into an even stronger community of faith and a pillar of our community.
In recent years, we have been able to focus on improving many different aspects of parish
life. However, as our community continues to grow together in our faith, there are a
number of immediate challenges that require our attention. Certain aspects of our
physical plant are in need of significant maintenance in order for our church to continue
serving at the center of our parish community. The first major need that must be
addressed is to replace the entire heating system within the church, which will likely not
make it through the next winter. Replacing the heating system includes not only the
boiler, but the blowers and pipes as well. The second major need is to conduct significant
repairs on our beloved bell tower, which after years of wear and weather is causing
damage inside the church – damage which will only get much worse if not addressed
very soon.
In our effort to address these important issues, as well as others, I am excited to announce
the Growing In Faith Together (G.I.F.T) Capital Campaign. With a goal of $400,000, I
am confident that we will be able to realize our hope of having a quieter, more efficient
heating system, fueled by gas, as well as the preservation of our bell tower, which is a
real landmark in our community. With your support, we even hope to install air
conditioning in our church for the first time.
We cannot do this without you and, so, in gratitude for all the support you have already
given to our parish, I ask for your help. Achieving our goal will not be easy, but with
your support, and the support of every member and friend of St. Ann’s Parish, I am
confident that we will do it. These critical needs provide us with real opportunities to
ensure that St. Ann’s remains the center of the Black Rock Community for years to come.
The G.I.F.T. Campaign Committee and I would like to invite you to join us in making a
sacrificial gift over and above your regular giving to preserve our most treasured asset –
the church building itself – that we may continue to Grow In Faith Together, and draw
more to join us!

Estimada Familia Parroquial,
Hace cuatro años, tengo la fortuna de servir como pastor a los feligreses de la Parroquia
de Santa Ana y de la Comunidad de Black Rock. En estos cuatro años, hemos tenido la
oportunidad de hacer cosas increíbles juntos y, sinceramente, creo que soy uno de los
pastores más felices de la Diócesis de Bridgeport. Hemos trabajado duro y hemos visto
crecer nuestra parroquia en una comunidad aún más fuerte de fe y pilar de nuestra
comunidad.
En los últimos años, hemos sido capaces de mejorar muchos aspectos de la vida
parroquial. Sin embargo, como nuestra comunidad sigue creciendo junto a nuestra fe, hay
una serie de retos inmediatos que requieren nuestra atención. Ciertos elementos fisicos de
nuestra iglesia requieren reparaciones muy significativas, para que nuestra iglesia pueda
continuar operando y ser el centro de nuestra comunidad parroquial. La primera
necesidad importante que debe abordarse es el reemplazo de todo el sistema de
calefacción, que probablemente no funcione para el próximo invierno. Este reemplazo es
completo; tuberias, ventiladores y el "boiler". La segunda necesidad es, llevar a cabo
reparaciones importantes en nuestro querido campanario, que con el tiempo y el uso está
causando daños en el interior de la iglesia - estos daños pueden ser mucho mas graves si
no se actua pronto con las reparaciones necesarias.
En nuestro esfuerzo por abordar estos y otros aspectos, me complasco en anunciar la
Campaña General G.I.F.T (Growing In Faith Together). Con una meta de $ 400,000 estoy
seguro que seremos capaces de realizar nuestro anhelo de tener un sistema más silencioso
y más eficiente de calefacción a gas, así como la preservación de nuestro campanario, que
es un verdadero icono en nuestra comunidad. Con su apoyo, incluso podemos contar con
la instalación de aire acondicionado en nuestra iglesia por primera vez.
No podemos hacer esto sin tu ayuda, de manera que, en agradecimiento por todo el apoyo
que brindas a nuestra parroquia, te pido tu ayuda. La meta de nuestro objetivo no será
fácil, pero con tu apoyo y el apoyo de todos los miembros y amigos de la Parroquia de
Santa Anna, estoy seguro que lo haremos. Estas necesidades críticas nos proporcionan
oportunidades reales para asegurar que St. Anna sigua siendo el centro de la Comunidad
de Black Rock en los años venideros.
