A fresh perspective is what I believe our Truckee Tahoe
Airport Board needs. l am Teresa O'Dette and I am asking for
your vote. If elected, I will be the first voice of North Lake
Tahoe on the Airport Board in 16 years. I will promote smart
growth on behalf of the entire airport district, I will
strengthen the local economy thru impactful airport changes,
and I will make the right decisions for our community. I grew
up in Tahoe City and am raising my family here. I am a longstanding successful business owner as well as community
leader and volunteer. I understand our region's business
climate and the need for keen decision-making capabilities at
this critical time for the Airport District.
INCUMBENT, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, WATERSHED COUNCIL
My priorities are reducing noise and annoyance, increasing
aviation safety, improving airport infrastructure, and insuring
the airport does not drive growth.
Since my election in 2012, I have successfully worked with
others so our Airport District is a community leader. We are
contributing to North Tahoe and Truckee through a medical
heliport in Tahoe City, a contribution to the Truckee pool
complex, support for health and fire responders, connections to
Martis Valley trails, and facilities for community events.
Plane traffic has increased also increasing noise and annoyance.
We are working to counteract this by launching a tranquility
campaign with pilots, extending voluntary flying curfews and
managing arrival and departure routes.
We are maximizing aviation safety and improving airport
infrastructure by upgrading pavement, aviation services and
hangars.
With 30 years in high-tech and nonprofits, I bring management
and fiscal experience needed for a Board plus conflict resolution
and communication skills to work with diverse groups.
I'll continue to look for opportunities for the community and
aviation users. It's our quality of life; it's our airport district. With
your vote, we can ensure the Airport District serves all of us!

aporto la experiencia administrativa y fiscal necesaria para una
Junta además de las habilidades de resolución de conflictos y
de comunicación para trabajar con diversos grupos.

RETIRED SMALL BUSINESS OWNER
I am a Placer County resident who is passionate about the
North Lake Tahoe and Truckee communities. I want to help
improve them for current and future residents.
I believe the airport has the capability and obligation to reduce
noise and annoyance, operate the airport safely and efficiently,
improve airport infrastructure, be part of regional affordable
housing solutions, and give back to all of the surrounding
communities: Truckee, North and West Shore, and up to
Donner Summit. The District receives $5 million per year from
our property taxes. Let's use some of this to benefit everyone in
our region.
On behalf of the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, I
served as volunteer project manager for Community House in
Kings Beach. I am a Truckee River Day volunteer and regular
contributor to the Truckee River Watershed Council. I served on
the Community Advisory Committee on Property Tax for
Truckee Fire.
I graduated from Cornell University (engineering) and Stanford
University (MBA). I served in the US Army (Vietnam and
Germany). I have 40 years experience in business, including
company ownership for 20 years.

increased community benefits that will enhance the quality of
life for all local residents–because community matters.

RETIRED SOFTWARE ENGINEER
I was privileged to serve three terms on the Airport Citizens
Advisory Team. This gives me an intimate understanding of
the issues facing our airport and its constituents. The airport
is an asset to our community and economy. It has made
strides in reducing noise and annoyance, improving
infrastructure, and broadening benefits to our entire region.
Yet there is more we can do.
I am running for Airport Board to continue this positive track
record. My emphasis will be in several areas. I will continue
ground-breaking efforts to reduce annoyance in
neighborhoods affected by overflights. This includes land
acquisitions where appropriate. I will continue spreading
community benefit throughout the region including tight
integration and support of our regional transportation
system. I will discourage airport improvements that risk
increasing flight operations. I will preserve a wellmaintained, safe environment for airport users. And I am
committed to providing a productive and interesting
workplace for airport staff.
I am a 17 year full-time resident of Placer County. I was
corporate finance systems manager for a multi-billion dollar
enterprise. I understand numbers and the underlying
assumptions - a skill essential to Board oversight.
