fr. William Hubbard
Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Fatima,/Queridos parroquianos y amigos de Nuestra Señora de Fátima,
As we know, the first ever diocesan capital campaign comprises a lot of elements that will help vitalize and sustain our Catholic
life in the Diocese of Orange. However, the renovation of the future Christ Cathedral and the whole campus is what gets the most
attention. It is a magnificent place that Rev. Dr. Robert Schuller built over his 50 years of ministry in Garden Grove. Earlier in the
month, a group of parishioners and I went up to the cathedral for a tour of the whole campus. Many people are surprised to find
that it houses 5 separate buildings in addition to the cathedral building and includes a school, the diocesan offices, and memorial
gardens, as well a very large and active parish.
I am always struck by the place when I go up for tours or meetings or events or whatever. It is a place that conveys a sense of peace
and proclaims the love of Jesus. Its beauty is stunning, as it boasts buildings by some of the greatest American architects of the
20th century. If you have never been to see the space, I would highly recommend that you join us on April 5 for a tour. We have
limited space available to travel with us by bus (there is no cost), but everyone is welcome to meet us up there. The tours begin at
10am outside of the cathedral building and will last about an hour and 15 minutes. You can see that we had a good group of people
before who were very happy they made the trip. As we begin to make this space our own, it is important that we all feel at home at
our cathedral. Call the parish office if you are interested in joining on the bus, otherwise we will see you there!

CRS Rice Bowl Reflection: Malawi
This week, CRS Rice Bowl invites us to enter into solidarity
with the people of Malawi. We are encouraged to reflect on
the Catholic social teaching principle, Dignity of Work and
Rights of Workers, and reminded that, just as He labored to
create the universe, God sanctifies and calls us to work. Let
us pray this week for our brothers and sisters in Malawi and
all around the world that we work with joy for God’s greater
glory. We are all part of one human family – whatever our
national, racial, religious, economic or ideological differences – and in an increasingly interconnected world, loving
our neighbor has global dimensions. “Let us remember Paul
VI’s words: ‘For the Catholic Church, no one is a stranger, no
one is excluded, no one is far.’ Indeed, we are a single human
family that is journeying on toward unity, making the most of
solidarity and dialogue among peoples in the multiplicity of
differences.” – Pope Francis.

Coming This Summer Weekly Falcon Fun Summer Camp!
JULY 7—AUGUST 22 / 8AM - 4PM, MONDAY - FRIDAY
Open to all children entering kindergarten through 8th grade
mer activities, the sharing of adventures with a group of
friends, and the chance to participate in summer fun activities
are many of the reasons for sending your child to OLF’s summer camp program. Far more than simple child care for the
summer, our OLF summer camp provides both quality educational experiences and fun for the campers in a safe environment. Our caring, well trained counselors involve themselves
with the campers both by facilitating games and activities and
by playing along in games of the campers’ choice. Through
this interaction our campers develop healthy social skills,
learn how to successfully resolve conflicts, and how to make
and keep good friends! Each camp day is planned to compliment the theme of the week, may include science, crafts,
games, technology and light academics. Weekly field trips are
also planned. For detailed information please visit
www.olfschool.net and click on the Summer Camps tab or
