V LASBRA Meeting on “The Neuroscience of Alcohol abuse and
V LASBRA Meeting on “The Neuroscience of Alcohol
abuse and Alcoholism”
The general aim of the meeting is to serve as a regional forum for Latin-American
researchers and graduate students interested in the neuroscience of alcohol use
disorders (AUD, abuse and dependence). The program combines teaching
research methods and techniques to graduate students and disseminate recent
studies on alcohol research.
The specifics aims are:
a) To disseminate information on recent studies on the neuroscience of
alcohol use disorders, as conducted by researchers from Latin-American
and other countries.
b) To provide opportunities for young investigators to interact with senior
scientists from several countries, as well as promote student exchange
between research groups internationally.
c) To expose graduate students to an overview of behavioral and
neurochemical techniques employed for the study of AUD in animal
models.
Information of interest: The particular speakers were selected on the basis of
their scientific excellence. We tried to represent as many as possible of the LatinAmerican countries. This is a preliminary program and it is subject to changes.
Date: March, 31st and April 1st, 2011
Local: São Paulo, SP, Brazil
Registration: Free registration until January 24th, 2011. After this date,

Application for membership should be sent to [email protected] with a CV.
If you are a member of ISBRA or RSA, the CV is not necessary.
Students must send a CV with a letter of recommendation.
Abstracts: Accepted abstracts will be published on Argentinean Journal of
Behavioral Sciences (AJBS).
Abstracts will be judged anonymously by the Scientific Committee. The
Committee will impartially select abstracts for Oral Presentation and will
nominate the best presentations that will be awarded. Depending on available
funding, students will be eligible for Travel Awards.
