In 2008, a group of students of the design department
at Wismar University of Applied Sciences got together in
order to create their own student magazine, inspired by
similar initiatives at other design schools. The aim was to
develop a publication based almost entirely on their own
requirements, resources and ideas and thus create a platform and forum for experimentation that would showcase
their own ideas, content and design tools.
After in-depth analysis, concept work, research and a
lot of writing, illustrating and designing, the first edition of
NORTE appeared in the summer of 2009. Its contrast topic
was “Order & Chaos”. In summer 2011, the present #2 appeared, on the subject of “Becoming & Being”.
