Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
Congratulations to the graduates and their families on completing a successful journey at WCHS! “In real life every day you graduate. Graduation is a process
that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you’ll make a
difference.” ~Arie Pencovici
We also celebrate with all of our students who have completed their course work to
stay on track. At this time of the year, we need to reflect on our child’s educational
needs and make goals for the upcoming year. Please take time with your child to
review their report card and transcript. If your child is not on track to graduate in
their cohort year either by credits or mandatory regents requirements, be sure to register for summer school and upcoming August regents. If you have any questions
regarding your child’s progress, please contact your child’s guidance counselor.

IDEAL UNIFORM SALE
Join us for our IDEAL Department Store Uniform Sale!
Please be advised that for the 2016-17 school year, approved uniform
pieces (including pants, skirts, and button-down shirts) are available
only through IDEAL Department Store. This has been instituted
because of a need for consistency with student uniforms.
Uniform packages for WCHS families will be available for purchase at
the school on Thurs., July 21st and Weds., July 27th from 6-8pm or
packages can be purchased at IDEAL Department Store.
All families purchasing a
complete package will receive a 10% discount!

August. In the email please include Student Name and the exam you would like to take.
MESSAGE FROM THE MATH AND SCIENCE DEPARTMENTS:
Dear Parents / Guardians,
The Williamsburg Charter Math & Science departments are now requiring
students to purchase their own graphing calculator for home and classroom
use. While we understand there is a cost to this request, we hope that you and your
student will realize the benefits of an investment that will last them through all of
high school and well beyond.
The NYS Regents and NYS Common Core exams both require students to
be in possession of a graphing calculator with certain functionality. It is our recommendation that students purchase a TI-84 Plus CE calculator. This calculator
will have all the features that your student needs, and is an acceptable device on all
math and science exams, including the Regents, Common Core, AP, SAT, and
ACT.
These
calculators
are
available
for
purchase
online
(amazon.com, staples.com, walmart.com) as well as in certain stores (Staples, Office Max / Depot, Wal*Mart). Please check that when you purchase this device it
is the Plus CE; there are many models of the TI-84. Please ask a sales associate
for help or confirm with Mr. Fier ([email protected]) if you need help finalizing a
purchase. It is our expectation that students begin the school year with the calculator available. We thank you in advance for your consideration and look forward to
another great school year!
BOOK RETURN:
If your child still has books issued to him/her during the 2015-16 school year, please return the books to the school as soon as possible. ALL books must be returned to the Mail
Room (Room 127) and lost book charges must be resolved in order for report cards/
transcripts/2016-2017 programs to be issued.
SENIORS: You must return all books or resolve book charges in order to receive your
diploma & final transcripts!

Estimadas familias,
¡Felicitaciones a los graduados y sus familias en completar sus trayectos exitosos en la

También celebramos con todos nuestros estudiantes quienes completaron sus cursos para mantenerse en buen camino para graduarse. En estos tiempos, tenemos que reflejar sobre las necesidades educativas de nuestros hijos para el próximo año. Por favor tome el tiempo para revisar las calificaciones y expediente de su hijo. Si su hijo se encuentra atrasado para graduarse
con su año cohorte sea por créditos u otros requisitos de regents obligatorios, asegúrese de
registrar para clases de verano y los regents en agosto. Si tiene alguna pregunta sobre el progreso de su hijo, por favor contacte al consejero de su hijo.

¡Acompáñenos para la venta de uniformes de la tienda IDEAL!

MENSAJE DE LOS DEPARTAMENTOS DE MATEMÁTICA Y CIENCIA
Estimados padres / tutores,
Los departamentos de matemática y ciencia de Williamsburg Chárter ahora
requiere que los estudiantes compren sus propias calculadoras para usar en el hogar y en sus clases. Aunque entendemos que esta petición tiene un costo, esperamos que usted y su hijo entiendan que esta inversión les beneficiarán durante todo
su tiempo en la escuela secundaria y en el futuro.
El Regents del estado de NY y los exámenes Common Core de NY requieren que los estudiantes poseen una calculadora gráfica con cierta funcionalidad. Nuestra recomendación es que los estudiantes compren una calculadora TI84 Plus CE. DEVOLUCIÓN DE LIBROS:
Si su hijo todavía tiene libros del ano escolar del 2015-2016, por favor devuelvalos a la escuela lo mas pronto posible. TODOS los libros deben ser devueltos al Aula 127 y todos los
cargos para libros que perdio deben ser resueltos para recibir las calificaciones/
expedientes/programas para el 2016-2017.
GRADO 12: ¡Necesitan devolver sus libros y resolver cargos para los libros para recibir su diploma y expedientes finales!
Por favor devuelva sus libros durante el horario de clases de verano, 8am
-1:30pm, de lunes-jueves. ¡Gracias!
