Alejandra Seeber b. 1968 (Buenos Aires) Alejandra Seeber’s complex and multilayered work focuses on the reinterpretation of everyday subjects, like the act of knitting, through spontaneous painterly gestures. Oftentimes, these gesturews overlap repetitively causing figurative elements to unexpectedly emerge from abstract-‐expressionist images. The initial sense of light-‐
heartedness conveyed by her pictures thus gives way to a more conceptual framework that is indicative of the human psychological condition throughout Seeber’s compositional paintings as well as her sculptural pieces. The artist lives and works in New York.
