HRA: Cognitive Development
Title: “Color Fun”
Why?
What?
The student will recognize the nine basic colors (red, yellow, blue, green, white, orange, purple, black, brown)
Small bag of pom poms, index cards, paper and crayons
How?
1. Have your child color the index cards different colors.
2. Pick one color card out and have the child go and find things that are that color and come back and tell you what they found, or bring the object back to you.
3. Gather several objects of different colors and have the child place each object on the corresponding colored card.
4. Hind one set of cards around the room. Give the child one of the second set of cards and tell him or her to go find that colored card.
5. You could have the child place the colored pom pom on the matching card
6. Have child match crayons to the cards 7. Hold up each card and ask child what color it is
8. Go outside and find things in nature that are different colors
What Else?
Sing the song “Colors” to the tune of Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Titulo “Diversion con Colores”
Porque?
El/la estudiante podrá reconocer nueve colores básicos ( rojo, amarillo, azul, verde, blanco, anaranjado, morado, negro,y café)
Que?
Una funda pequeña de pompones, tarjetas pequeñas, papel y crayones.
Como?
1. Haga que su hijo/a encuentre los colores que corresponden juntos.
2. Pinte las tarjetas de diferentes colores. Escoja una tarjeta y dele a su hijo/a para que encuentre cosas de ese color y regrese para contarle que encontró, o que le enseñe ese objeto.
3. Recoga diferentes objetos de diferentes colores y haga que el/la niño/a le ponga en la tarjeta del color que le corresponde.
4. Esconda mitad de las tarjetas por un cuarto. Dele a su hijo/a la otra mitad de las tarjetas y dígale que tiene que encontrar la tarjeta del color que corresponde con las tarjetas que tiene en su mano.
5. Puede hacer que su hijo/ ponga el pompón de el color que corresponde en la tarjeta de ese color
6. El/la niño/a puede combinar los crayones con la tarjeta de ese color
7. Levante cada tarjeta y pregúntele a su hijo/a que color es
8. Vaya afuera y encuentre cosas en la naturaleza que son de diferentes colores.
What Else? Cante la canción “Colores” que tiene la misma melodía que Cabeza, Hombros, Rodillas, y Pies.

Consejo #2: Antes de empezar la actividad dele tiempo a su hijo/a a que se familiarice con los materiales.
Consejo #9: Dele ánimo a su hijo/a cuando hace algo bien o toma pasos en la dirección correcta.
