Baptisms for children take place in Spanish on the first and third
Saturday and third Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm and in English

SIMBANG GABI MASS
As a preparation for Christmas the Filipino
community organizes every year a Novena of
Masses in Tagalog. The Novena will begin on
Tuesday, December 15th, and will continue
until December 23rd. The Simbang Gabi Mass will be
celebrated at 7:30 PM each day in the Chapel. Different priests will be coming to celebrate the Mass.
There will be a Christmas Gathering after the last
day! Everyone is welcomed!

CHRISTMAS CAROLS
Every year the children of our Religion Program sing
Christmas Carols before the Mid-night Mass on
December 24th, beginning at 11:00 pm in the
Church. If interested, please see Deacon Rolando
after the 10 am Mass on Sundays. Thank you!
TOYS DRIVE
We are now collecting new toys to be distributed among
the children at the Three Kings Festival on Epiphany
Sunday (January 3th). As you are doing your Christmas
shopping, please remember to buy a toy for one of the
poor children of the parish, ages 1 to 8. Thank you!
MINISTRIES IN OUR PARISH
Lectors. If you would like to be a lector for our
English Masses, please let Aster Gallero knows.
Singers. We are looking for singers to form a choir. If you
can sing and are interested, please speak to Judith
Farnum, the organist.

NEW BOILERS IN THE RECTORY
(Update)
Finally the heat began to come up to our rooms
Tuesday night for the first time after three weeks.
There is still work to do and hopefully they will finish
the whole new boiler this week. Honestly, I had no
idea the amount of work it took to put in a new
boiler, which makes it worth the price of $55,000
that T & C Mechanical & Son’s LLC has asked for
the job. They have been working days and nights
building a complete new boiler and it has been a lot
of work. You would not believe it until you see it.
Now I think it costs what it does. So, its good to
have heat again. Fr. Rodriguez
CHAPEL RENOVATIONS
We will begin using the Chapel this week for
Masses during the day and the Simbang Gabi Novena in the evening. Just in time for the heat! So,
everything has worked for the better. They might be
some details that still are not finished in the Chapel
but hopefully they will be finished soon. Thank you!
COLLECTION FOR RETIRED RELIGIOUS
This weekend, December 12/13. Please support the

Third Sunday of Advent
REJOICE!
Today, the Third Sunday of Advent, is traditionally referred to
as Gaudete Sunday. This is the Advent Sunday of joy. Today’s
first reading, responsorial psalm, and second reading call us to
express joy in three ways. We are summoned to “shout for
joy” (Zephaniah 3:14), to “cry out with joy” (Isaiah 12:6), and
to “rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4). Expressing
Christian joy is quite distinct from the kind of joy we express,
for instance, when our favorite sports team wins an important
game. That kind of joy is fleeting. Christian joy is an inner
peace and spiritual happiness that is developed throughout our
lives and sustains us even when we struggle. It is the kind of
joy that is infectious. Others can tell that there is simply something different about us. Let us rejoice this day, for to us shall

Tercer Domingo de Adviento
¡REGOCIJATE!
Hoy, el Tercer Domingo de Adviento, tradicionalmente se lo
llama el Domingo de Gaudete. Es el domingo de gozo del
Adviento. La primera lectura, el salmo responsorial, y la segunda lectura nos llaman a expresar alegría de tres maneras.
Nos dicen: den “gritos de júbilo” (Sofonías 3:14), “griten de
alegría” (Isaías 12:6), y “alégrense siempre en el
Señor” (Filipenses 4:4). Expresar gozo cristiano es muy distinto del tipo de contento que manifestamos cuando, por ejemplo, nuestro equipo deportivo favorito gana un partido importante. Este tipo de alegría es pasajero. El gozo cristiano es una
paz interior y felicidad espiritual que se desarrolla a lo largo de
nuestra vida y nos sostiene aun en las luchas. Es una alegría
contagiosa. Otros se percatan de que sencillamente hay algo
diferente en nosotros. Regocijémonos hoy, pues nos llegará el

NUEVAS CALDERAS (BOILERS) EN LA
RECTORIA (Nueva Informacion)
Finalmente el caliente comenzo a subir a nuestras habitaciones el martes en la noche por primera vez despues
de tres semanas. Todavia hay trabajo que hacer y esperamos puedan terminar la nueva caldera (boiler) esta
semana. Honestamente, no tenia ni idea la gran cantidad de trabajo que conyeba poner una nueva caldera, lo
cual hace justo el precio de $55,000 que T & C Mechanical & Son’s LLC ha pedido por el trabajo. Ellos han
estado trabajando dia y noche armando una nueva caldera y ha sido muchisimo trabajo. No lo creeria hasta que
usted lo vea. Asi que es bueno tener calefacion de
nuevo! Fr. Rodriguez
RENOVACION DE LA CAPILLA
Comenzaremos a usar la Capilla esta semana para las
Misas diarias y la Misa en Filipino de los Aguinaldos.
Justo a tiempo ahora que hay calefacion. Asi que todo
trabajo para bien. Faltaran algunos detalles que se terminaran poco a poco. Gracias por su paciencia!

AGUINALDOS Y POSADAS
Los Aguinaldos y Posadas comienzan este
Miércoles 16 de Diciembre 2009. Todos las noches con la Misa de 7:15 pm. Seguido de las Misa
se cantan los aguinaldos y se baja a la Iglesia de
abajo buscando posadas. Después de las Posadas
se tiene refrigerios y piñatas para los niños. Los siguientes grupos son responsables de cada noche:
Miércoles 16: Guadalupanos; Jueves 17: Evangelización; Viernes 18: Ecuatorianos y Altagracianos;
Sábado 19: Divino Nino; Domingo 20: Cursillistas;
Lunes 21: Ministerios de la Palabra, Ujieres, Eucaristía y Catequistas; Martes 22: Circulo de Oración y
Jóvenes; Miércoles 23: Comité Guadalupano. Invitar por lo menos a 5 familias cada noche y traer 2
piñatas para los niños y aguinaldos. Compartiendo

VILLANCICOS NAVIDEÑOS
El 24 de Diciembre, los niños del Catecismo estarán cantando villancicos Navideños comenzando
a las 11:30 PM antes de la Misa de Media Noche
en la Iglesia. Los que deseen participar favor de ver
al Diacono Rolando después de Misa de 10:00 am.
BENDICION DE NIÑOS DIOS
Las familias que quieran mecer y arrullar el Niño

Por segundo ano se celebrara una Misa en
honor a la Virgen de las Nubes, el Sábado 9 de
Enero a las 7:00 pm, seguido de un compartir en
el Salón de la Escuela.
La Comunidad Ecuatoriana se reúne todos los domingos
