Washington St
Following the opening of the 20-mile light rail line,
Valley Metro developed a Station Addition Policy
that outlines the process and criteria for adding new
stations to the existing service. The process includes
a two-phase approach to evaluate potential station
location options.

The first phase is an initial assessment on the station
location options, and includes an evaluation of:
• Potential ridership
• Station spacing
• Cost estimation and funding
• Constructability

Valley Metro, in coordination with the city of Phoenix,
has initiated a 12-18 month study evaluating the
feasibility of adding light rail stations on Washington
Street in the vicinity of 16th and 48th streets.
Option A West of 16th Street on Washington and east of 16th Street on Jefferson; split platform
Option B Through 17th Street on Washington and east of 16th Street on Jefferson; split platform
Option C West of 18th Street on Washington and east of 18th Street on Jefferson; split platform

The purpose of the initial assessment is to narrow
and further define the options. Feasible options will
advance for further evaluation in the second phase
of the study. The second phase is a more detailed
analysis of the remaining options.

Opciones de Estaciones en 16th Street
Washington St
Después de la inauguración de la línea de 20 millas del
tren ligero, Valley Metro desarrolló una Norma de Adición
de Estaciones que delinea el proceso y criterio para agregar
nuevas estaciones al servicio existente. El proceso incluye
un enfoque de dos fases para evaluar las opciones de la
ubicación de estaciones potenciales.
