From Our Parochial Administrator...
I am happy to be here at Christ the King and look forward to getting to know all of
you. I would like to share a little about myself and the journey that brought me to
Christ the King, here in Mesa, Arizona. I was born to Mr. Dominador Francisco, Sr.
(+) and Mrs. Moretha B. Francisco in Patnoñgon, Antique, Philippines. My
baptismal name is Jose Rolyn Francisco. I’m the oldest of five children. I entered
St. Peter’s Seminary, San Jose, Antique, and proceeded to theology under the
Jesuits at San Jose Major Seminary, Quezon City, Philippines. I was ordained a
priest on April 9, 1988.
My first year was spent as an associate pastor and was followed by a year as a Chaplain at St. Anthony’s
College. I pursued my Masters in Philosophy at Ateneo de Manila University, a Jesuit institution, while I
served on the Faculty as the Apostolate Director of San Jose Major Seminary theology seminarians. I
continued to serve in the Archdiocese of Manila as the associate pastor of two parishes until requested to
establish “San Jose ang Tagapagtanggol Parish” (St. Joseph the Defender Parish), in an all-squatter
community of 25,000 households at the National Government Center, Quezon City. I also served as the
Director of San Jose “Ang Tagapagtanggol Parochial School” (St. Joseph the Defender Parochial School)
that I founded, and the Parochial Administrator of St. Joseph parish, “Parokya ni Kristong Hari” (Christ
the King Parish), another close-by all-squatter community.
I served St. Joseph Parish for ten years, six years as Pastor, before I was assigned to “St. Joseph the
Worker Parish,” Tala, Caloocan City, Metro Manila. I spent just over two months at “Presentation of Our
Lord Parish,” in Quezon City, when I left for “Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish,” in Scottsdale, Arizona,
USA. I have been the Associate Pastor at OLPH, for the past two and a half years and said yes when asked
to serve as the “Interim Parochial Administrator” of “Christ the King Parish,” here in Mesa.
While I was a pastor in the Philippines, I spent some of my time teaching Philosophy to College students
and Public Administration courses to those pursuing Masteral and Doctoral programs at the University of
the Philippines. Being a Doctorate graduate of Public Administration and Governance, I pursued a Postdoctoral Program on Leadership and Organization at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard
University. I wrote and published three books: Karol Wojtyla’s (now St. John Paul II) Theory of
Participation. St. Pauls Publications (1995); Slum Upgrading and Urban Renewal of the National
Government Center. National College of Public Administration and Governance, U.P. (2009); and
Empowering the Urban Poor with the Quadripartite Housing Approach: A Personal Odyssey. Claretian
Publications (2012).
It is my prayer that as we journey together, we may learn from each other so that we will be able to
continue building and strengthening Christ’s Body, the Church, and in turn we will also be strengthened
as her members to function effectively and accomplish our task for the common good.
God Bless,
Father Rolyn Francisco

The Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Reginald Heber/John B. Dykes
Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty:
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee;
Holy, Holy, Holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity.
Ps 106 (105): 47
Save us, O Lord our God!
And gather us from the nations,
to give thanks to your holy name,
and make it our glory to praise you.
Holy, Holy, Holy! All the Saints adore thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
Which were and are, and evermore shall be.
Holy, Holy, Holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
Though the eye made blind by sin thy glory may not see,
Only thou are Holy; There is none beside thee,
Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.
Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy Name in earth and sky and sea;
Holy, Holy, Holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity.

What heart could hold the weight of Your love, and know the heights of Your great worth
What eyes could look on Your glorious face, shining like the sun
You are holy holy holy, God most high and God most worthy
You are holy holy holy, Jesus You are Jesus You are
(Jesus You are Jesus You are)
Your name alone has pow'r to raise us, Your light will shine when all else fades
Our eyes will look on Your glorious face, Shining like the sun. Who is like You God?
Who shall we say You are, You're the living God Who shall we say You are, You're the Great I Am
The highest name of all, You're all You say You are
And You will come again in glory, to judge the living and the dead
All eyes will look on Your glorious face, shining like the sun. Who is like You God?
Cf. Ps 31 (30): 17-18
Let your face shine on your servant.
Save me in your merciful love.
O Lord, let me never be put to shame, for I call on you.

Lord, I come, I confess, bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart,
You're the One that guides my heart
Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You,
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness.
Oh God, how I need You
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more.
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free,
Holiness is Christ in me
So, teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You,
Jesus, You're my hope and stay
Matt Redman © 2004 Thankyou Music (Admin. by EMI Christian Music Pub)
Jesus I could sing, in the tongues of men and angels,
But if I have not love I am just a clanging cymbal,
An empty sound.
Jesus I could sing, in the tongues of men and angels
But if I have not love I am just a clanging cymbal,
An empty sound.
And this is a love song This is a love song
Jesus a love song to You
A song of devotion Of reverent passion
Savior a love song to You
Jesus I could pray,
with a faith that moves a mountain,
But if I have not love, it is just a noise resounding,
An empty sound.
Jesus I could pray,
with a faith that moves a mountain,
But if I have not love, it is just a noise resounding,
An empty sound.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
Have mercy on me, have mercy on me.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
Have mercy on me, have mercy on me. Amen.
Jesus, I trust in you. Jesus, I trust in you.
You are the Son of the Living God,
Jesus, I trust in you. Jesus, I trust in you.

All the colors of the rainbow, all the voices of the wind.
Ev’ry dream that reaches out, reaches out to find where love begins.
Ev’ry word of ev’ry story, ev’ry star in ev’ry sky.
Ev’ry corner of creation lives to testify.
For as long as I shall live I will testify to love.
I’ll be a witness in the silences when words are not enough.
With every breath I take, I will give thanks to God above,
For as long as I shall live, I will testify to love.
From the mountains to the valleys, from the rivers to the sea.
Ev’ry hand that reaches out, ev’ry hand that reaches out to offer peace.
Ev’ry single act of mercy, ev’ry step to Kingdom come.
All the hope in ev’ry heart speaks what love has done.

He escrito y publicado tres libros: La Teoría de
Participación de Karol Wojtyla (ahora San Juan Pablo II). St. Paul Publications (1995); Mejorando los
Barrios Bajos y Renovación Urbana del Centro Nacional de Gobierno. Colegio Nacional de Administración
Pública y Gobernación, U. P. (2009); Fortaleciendo a los Indigentes Urbanos con el Plan de Vivienda
Cuadripartido: Una Odisea Personal. Claretian Publications (2012).
