Christian stewards understand that they do not live for themselves. They live to be stewards of Christ’s presence within them, and to make his presence known to others. They do it at Mass. They do it in faith-sharing groups. They do it at work. And they do it daily in a thousand different ways; and where they express their love for God and others in a manner that suits their situation and personality. Through your almsgiving, you are performing a good work; far greater than you think. The coins placed in the St. Vincent de Paul collection and the food items you drop in the food boxes bring Christ’s love and compassion to the poor. For more information about Saint Vincent de Paul, please visit www.svdprr.org. Words of Life Human life must always be defended from its beginning in the womb and must be recognized as a gift of God that guarantees the future of humanity. Even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn and the poor, are masterpieces of God’s creation, made in his own image, destined to live for ever, and deserving of the utmost reverence and respect. ~ Pope Francis FREQUENT NUMBERS/ NUMEROS FREQUENTES PASTORAL CARE Liturgy Divorce & Beyond Bereavement Ministry Hospital visit (English) Hospital visit (Español) Homebound (English) Homebound (Spanish) Nursing Home Ministry Debbie George Debbie George Debbie George Mary DiBonito Martha Estrada Mary Cavett Martha Estrada Azucena Overman 600-8158 600-8158 600-8158 934-3235 417-8722 388-0016 417-8722 627-6423 SPIRITUAL LIFE Eucharist Adoration Pilgrim Statue Our Lady of Grace Estatua Peregrina Praise & Worship Prayer Line Parish Bible Study Legion of Mary Karina Hernandez Debbie Davis Rosie Russi Les & Gabriele Miller Joan A. Today, with the restoration of the permanent diaconate, we have examples of men in our midst who connect the ministry of Word and sacrament to the ministry of service. Deacons are in our midst to call all the baptized to our common vocation to ensure that the common good is recognized and accepted. It takes an army of people to put on a garage sale of this size. The Spring Fiesta Committee wishes to thank all of you who helped make the garage sale a success. To start, Frank Alvarez and his team of people who worked to pick up items and transport them week after week to the warehouse and to the parish hall. Many of them used their own vehicles and trailers. And special thanks to Uncle Bob’s Storage that donated use of storage facilities. Jim Barger helped to post items and promote the sale on Craig’s List. Thank you to the many groups who helped sort and price such as Janie Castillo’s sewing group, the Ladies’ Guild who worked on the day of the sale, and the parishioners who showed up individually to help. And let’s not forget the men who were there to help move and load furniture. Your assistance was vital to the success of this event. The Junior Catholic Daughters of America, lead by Annette Sprawls, sold breakfast tacos the morning of the sale, making about $400, and helping to keep the shoppers around. Rose and Art Zavala (not parishioners) donated Round Rock doughnuts for the JCDA to sell at breakfast. Saint William’s Boy Scout troop, led by Greg Rabaey, came in at the end to pack up the remaining items and clean the parish hall for Sunday. And, of course, thanks to all of our parishioners who saved their items and donated them for us to sell. A special thanks goes to a core group of ladies who were there to help every day, all day, all week, before and during the sale, including every year that this event has taken place. They include Liz Campos, Ann Garbade, Maxine Felux, and Ann Straseski. Without their help, there would be no garage sale. God bless everyone who participated in any way for their help in making the garage sale a success. Email us your pictures… Do you have pictures from a Saint William event or ministry gathering? Frequently Asked Questions Are we building another one story building that won’t meet our needs as soon as it is built? NO, we are not. The one story structures on campus were built to not compete with the beauty and size of our church. The parish activity center is to be constructed at the far south east portion of the campus. Though the parish activity center is to be a two story structure, it will not compete. The square footage of the parish activity center will meet our needs both now and as we move forward. PARISH MISSION—"WE ADORE THEE, O CHRIST!"
