A six-week Parenting Education TLFR Series
Topics Include:
Session 1: Styles of parenting
Session 2: Teaching your children problem solving skills and character
development.
Session 3: Understanding the relationship between thoughts, feelings and
behavior
Session 4: Four goals of children’s behavior; increasing positive behavior;
power struggles.
Session 5: Logical consequences for behavior; courage and self-esteem;
learn four methods of encouragement.
Session 6: Understand parent’s role as a positive influence in children’s
lives;

Child Abuse Prevention, California Emergency Management Agency, County of Orange and the Children and Families Commission of Orange County, as well as volunteer, in-kind support and private donations. FaCT is administered by the County of Orange Social Services Agency and Orangewood Children’s

Living With the Sexually Abused Child
Our Goal is to teach foster parents and relative/kinship
caregivers how to effectively manage and handle
situations involving sexual abuse. Sexual abuse is the
interaction of physical and non-physical (verbal abuse,
exposure, or pornography) contact between a child and
a person in a position of power wherein the child is used
for sexual stimulation of the abuser or others. The word
“power” plays a huge role in how children are controlled.
Although child sexual abuse is not limited to family
members, we will refer primarily to family abuse, incest,
in this workshop. Children who have been sexually
abused by a family member are commonly enveloped
into a secret life. It is the most secretive abuse of all.

Developing a parenting plan is like having a roadmap to
follow as you assess your own strengths and
weaknesses, and those of your children; for determining
how best to teach and care for your kids. This method
enables you to evaluate and draw from all your
parenting skills to solve parent-child conflicts and help
build positive relationships. A parenting plan also
enables you to develop a positive step-by-step strategy
for preventing and addressing various behavioral
problems.

Personal Empowerment Program (P.E.P.)

RESOURCE LIBRARY
Hundreds of brochures and books available free, or to lend, to help
you learn more about common health and wellness issues, family
dilemmas, educational resources and other support options.
The Personal Empowerment Program is a ten-week domestic violence education group focused on educating victims involved in
domestic violence so they can make enlightened decisions about
their relationships, safety, and future. Topics for the group include:
What is Domestic Violence?; Effects of Domestic Violence on Participants; Boundaries and Anger Management; Parents Talk Domestic Violence; Legal Aspects of Domestic Violence; Working
Through Denial; Red Flags and Lethality; The Healthy Relationship; and Where Do I Go From Here?

Short-term counseling and referrals in English and Spanish
PARENTING CLASSES
Six-week series for parents of elementary school aged children.

Apoyo para Victimas de la Violencia Domestica
Clases de Violencia Doméstica PEP
El Personal Empowerment Program (PEP) es un grupo de apoyo
educativo de violencia doméstica durando diez semanas
enfocado en educar victimas de violencia doméstica para que ellos/ellas
puedan tomar decisiones más educadas sobre sus relaciones, seguridad,
y el futuro. Llame al (714) 891-8121 para incribirse en la clase.

Exámenes de los senos y mamografias gratis
Se ofrece exámenes de los senos y mamografias GRATUITOS para
mujeres de bajos recursos y mayores de 40 años. Para poder calificar, la
persona debe ser de bajos recursos y tener un seguro médico limitado o
no tenter seguro médico. Podemos ayudar a cierto número de mujeres
que reciben Medicare.
